| Die im Januar abgewendete Schließung des Café Chaos hat uns zum Nachdenken angeregt und ist ein Ausdruck einer problematischen Gesamtentwicklung: Auch wenn es in einigen Bereichen erfreuliche Gegenentwicklungen gibt, wird die Uni insgesamt immer mehr zu einem durchprofessionalisierten Lernsilo statt Lebensraum und Wirkungsstätte ihrer Mitglieder zu sein. Der Corona-Lockdown, aus dem große Bereiche der Uni immer noch nicht vollständig zurück sind, hat diese Tendenz zur Geisteruni beschleunigt. Dieses Problem spiegelt sich auch in der katastrophalen Wahlbeteiligung der jüngsten Wahl wider und in den Umfragen zu Mental Health, die regelmäßig massive psychische Probleme vor allem auf Grund von Leistungsdruck, Einsamkeit und Geldproblemen aufzeigen. |
The closure of the Café Chaos, which was averted in January, has given us food for thought and is an expression of a problematic overall development: Even though there are pleasing counter-developments in some areas, the university is increasingly becoming a professionalized learning silo instead of being a living space and place of action for its members. The Corona lockdown, from which large areas of the university have not yet fully returned, has accelerated this tendency towards a ghost university. This problem is also reflected in the catastrophic voter turnout in the most recent election and in the mental health surveys, which regularly reveal massive psychological problems, especially due to performance pressure, loneliness and money problems. |
| Es führt in die falsche Richtung, wenn Brandschutzprobleme mit Restriktionen beantwortet werden, anstatt die Gebäude so auszustatten, dass eine lebendige Nutzung möglich ist. Es führt in die falsche Richtung, wenn die Prozesse daraufhin optimiert werden, dass alles zentral angemeldet und dokumentiert werden muss, anstatt darauf, die Strukturen vor Ort so zu stärken, dass sie eigenverantwortlich und spontan funktionieren. Es führt in die falsche Richtung, wenn (gefühlte) Sicherheitsprobleme in den Abendstunden mit Zäunen und Aufenthaltsverboten beantwortet werden, anstatt zu fördern, dass die Außenbereiche der Uni auch in den Abendstunden von ihren Mitgliedern lebendig bespielt werden. Es führt in die falsche Richtung, wenn alle Räumlichkeiten der Uni möglichst effizient fürs Forschen und Büffeln verplant werden, anstatt auch Aufenthaltsräume, Bühnen, Bandkeller und Selbstversorger*innenküchen einzuplanen oder auch einfach mal an gut zugänglichen Orten Freiräume zu lassen, deren Entwicklung die Unimitglieder selbst in die Hand nehmen. Es führt in die falsche Richtung, wenn Dozierende und Studierendenvertreter*innen vor allem im Blick haben, wie man Studierenden ein smoothes Angebot machen kann, anstatt zu fördern, dass Unimitglieder auch jenseits von Gremienarbeit die Unigestaltung selbst in die Hand nehmen.Es ist notwendig, dass die Gestaltung unserer Uni daraufhin geplant wird, die öffentlichen Räume großzügig so zu gestalten, dass Studierende, Dozierende und Mitarbeiter*innen in Foyers, Bibliotheken und sich überall dort gerne und nicht nur für Arbeit im engeren Sinne aufhalten und spontan miteinander ins Gespräch kommen und auch feiern. Es ist notwendig, gerade auch die Peripherie der Uni abends zu beleben. Es ist notwendig, den Brandschutz der Gebäude so zu gestalten, dass Sofas, Plakate, Schwarze Bretter, Flyer und Banner nicht nur in Grauzonen existieren, sondern eingeplant sind. Es ist notwendig, das Veranstaltungsraster unserer Uni so umzubauen, dass Pausen innerhalb der Veranstaltungen flächendeckend stattfinden.
Deshalb ist es notwendig, die wenigen bestehenden studentischen Aufenthaltsräume, wie das Café Chaos, zu behalten. Nicht nur das: Es muss auch ausgebaut werden, Studiobühne und AStA-Café sind wieder auf dem Campus anzusiedeln und noch viele weitere solcher Räume an allen größeren Standorten der Uni zu etablieren. Dafür treten wir ein und dafür wollen wir alle anderen Unimitglieder gewinnen. |

It leads in the wrong direction if all university spaces are planned as efficiently as possible for research and studying, instead of also planning common rooms, stages, band cellars and self-catering kitchens or simply leaving open spaces in easily accessible places, the development of which the university members themselves take into their own hands. It leads in the wrong direction when lecturers and student representatives focus primarily on how to provide students with a smooth offer instead of encouraging university members to take the organization of the university into their own hands beyond committee work.It is necessary that the design of our university is planned in such a way that the public spaces are generously designed so that students, lecturers and staff enjoy spending time in foyers, libraries and everywhere else, not just for work in the narrower sense, and spontaneously come into conversation with each other and also celebrate. It is necessary to liven up the periphery of the university in the evenings. It is necessary to design the fire protection of the buildings in such a way that sofas, posters, bulletin boards, flyers and banners not only exist in gray areas, but are planned in. It is necessary to reorganize the event grid of our university so that breaks within the events take place across the board.
It is therefore necessary to retain the few existing student lounges, such as Café Chaos. Not only that: it also needs to be expanded, the Studiobühne and AStA-Café need to be brought back on campus and many more such spaces need to be established at all major university locations. We stand for this and we want to win over all other university members for this. |
