As every year, there is a poster session in the Foyer in which the BCGS students present their work.
We invite everyone to join and have some interesting insights in the research of the different working groups in Cologne and Bonn and to the possibility to chat with other students about this work!

Lecture Hall III
Ulrich Schwarz from Heidelberg University will give a lecture on the topic of „Physics of viruses“. He will talk about how physical laws can help to better understand the different stages of the life cycle of viruses and how they set the limits of virus structures, replication and spread.

The AStA is organising a free festival from the 22nd to the 25th of May that will have live music, readings, comedy shows, art events and films being show, all with the aim of critically inspect racism, sexism and fascism.

| Wenn ihr anstatt bei euch, das Problem eher in den Rahmenbedingen des Studiums sieht und lieber versuchen wollt eine Strukturelle Veränderung zu bewirken, finden regelmäßig Treffen des Bündnis Studium am Limit statt, die sich genau das vorgenommen haben und zu dessen Treffen alle herzlich eingeladen sind. Das Bündnis hatte auch die Vollversammlung organisiert. | A group of students, including numerous student political parties, formed a coalition with the aim of fighting for structural change in the conditions of students and also organised a meeting intended for all students (you might have received the invitation mail). The coalition meets regularly and everyone who is in interested in helping is welcome to come. |
Seit letztem Jahr bietet die Uni einen neuen Masterstudiengang an, in dem man moderne Computer-gestützte Forschungsmethoden lernt. Hierbei gibt es auch die Physikalischen Schwerpunkte: Computational Astro- and Space Physics und Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics.
| Wir haben vor einiger Zeit Spinde entleert und haben noch sehr viele Sachen, die die Besitzer*innen in den 8 Monaten, in denen wir sie eingelagert haben, nicht abgeholt haben. Wir werden sie nach und nach auslegen und ihr könnt euch gerne bedienen. | After opening the unused lockers and storing their contents for 8 months, we still have quite a lot of things over, that the original owners never reclaimed, so we will be laying these things out throughout next week and you are welcome to take whatever you might want. |
Die Uni bietet am 7. und 21.06 jeweils einen Workshop zum Zeit und Alltagsmanagement an.
Am Mittwoch, den 17.5. veranstalten wir ein Grillen am Affenfelsen/unter der Treppe (Aufenthaltsbereich/Betonlandschaft zwischen Physik und Chemie). Zur Feier des Tages wollen wir dabei gemeinsam das Online-Foyer abschalten und feiern, dass die Uni wieder komplett in Präsenz läuft. Es wird von uns Getränke gegen Spende geben, bringt bitte Grillgut selber mit, es gibt mehrere Grills. Aushänge im Foyer werden im Laufe der nächsten Zeit aufgehängt, die genaue Uhrzeit wird dort festgelegt 😉
