Recent years have seen many initiatives aimed at strengthening the teaching of quantum physics at both at high-school and university levels. In particular, the
International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (2025) triggered numerous projects and outreach activities across Germany. In this talk, Stefan Heusler from Münster will present selected examples that address the challenges of teaching quantum physics from different perspective.

For high-school education, however, he will argue that engaging pupils with physics is more important than focusing on specific content. In particular, understanding the impact of quantum physics for society is more important than understanding quantum theory itself.
