Was ist die Fachschaft?
Die Fachschaft ist sperrig als „Institution der studentischen Interessensvertretung an Universitäten und anderen Hochschulen“ definiert. De facto handelt es sich bei der Fachschaft Physik um eine kleine Gruppe Studenten, die auf ehrenamtlicher Basis die Belange aller Physikstudenten gegenüber den Lehrenden und der Fakultät vertritt. Einerseits sitzen wir dabei für Euch in Kommissionen und Ausschüssen und füllen offiziell zu besetzende Ämter wie den Fachschaftsrat aus. Auf der anderen Seite bieten wir die erste Anlaufstelle für Fragen rund ums Studium und das studentische Leben. Wöchentlich tagt die Fachschaft in einer eigenen Sitzung und bespricht aktuelle Themen oder plant Veranstaltungen. Jeder ist herzlich eingeladen, vorbeizukommen und mitzumachen!
Fachschaftssitzung
Wöchentlich setzen sich die aktiven Fachschafter zusammen und diskutieren sowohl über die Ergebnisse vergangener Ausschuss- oder Kommissionssitzungen als auch über die Strategien und Meinungen für kommende. Neben den hochschulpolitischen Themen wird hier aber auch über neue Anschaffungen (wie Bücher unserer Präsenzbibliothek) und die Organisation von Fachschaftsveranstaltungen gesprochen. Dazu zählen die Tutoriumsveranstaltungen (Hörsaalkino, Literaturcafé, Klausurausklang…) und die jährliche Party im Foyer der Physikalischen Institute. Wer vorbeikommt, darf bei allem mitentscheiden und gestalten!

What is the Fachschaft (student council)?
The Fachschaft is defined as: „Institution of student interest representation at universities“. In reality the Fachschaft physics is a small group of students, that voluntarily represent the intersts of all students to the professors, other teaching personnel and the faculty as a whole. On one hand, we are members of comissions and other comitees and we fulfil other official positions, like the „Fachschaftsrat“ (official student council representatives). On the other hand, we offer to be a first point of contact for questions regarding all parts of studying here and the life as a student. We have meetings once a week, where we discuss current topics or plan events. Everyone is very welcome to join us and to participate!
Fachschafts-meeting
Every week the people who are active in the Fachschaft sit down together to discuss the events of past comitee meeting and also strategies for future ones. Aside from university-politics topics, this is also the place where new purchases (for example items for the area under the steps) and the organisation of Fachschafts events are talked about. To list some of these, we organise music festivals in the summer, retreats and movie nights. Anyone who comes to the meetings can vote and participate in decisions and initiatives.
